It is great stewardship. In this episode, we explore how: Information Has Weight. Even good news, advice, invitations, and life updates require emotional and mental energy. Sometimes the issue isn't the content. It's capacity. One Request Becomes Part of an Accumulation, Someone may think, “It's only one phone call,” without realizing you may be receiving ten other requests for your time, attention, wisdom, and emotional presence. They experience their one request. You experience the accumulation. Some Seasons Require You to Withdraw. Retirement, reinvention, relationships, relocation, illness, grief, and other major decisions may require you to temporarily step back so you can hear yourself, discern what you need, and give your life your undivided attention. Protecting Your Capacity Is Stewardship. Your emotional, spiritual, mental, and physical resources are finite. " You cannot borrow tomorrow's energy to satisfy today's expectations." You Don't Have to Prove Your Need for a Boundary, You don't owe anyone your private story, your wounds, or an explanation before you're allowed to say no, not now, or I don't have capacity.
