Summary

Ambulance personnel across the country are currently considering Labour Court proposals aimed at resolving a long-running pay dispute within the National Ambulance Service. Following years of campaigning, and a 24-hour strike by frontline staff last month, SIPTU and Unite have recommended that members accept proposals which include pay increases for a number of ambulance grades and protections for existing terms and conditions. The recommendations will now go to a ballot of union members. To discuss what's on offer, what it means for ambulance personnel, and the mood among staff, Alan Morrissey was joined by Midwest Irish Ambulance Representative Council member and Clooney-Quin native Orla Considine, along with Ennis Ambulance Base Shop Steward Finola Croke.
