One of the biggest takeaways? 👉 Your wedges that work beautifully at home… might be completely wrong elsewhere. At your home club you get used to: • The firmness of the turf • Grass type around the greens • How the club interacts with the ground • Bounce and grind matching your conditions Then you jump on a plane and suddenly you’re faced with: • Tight links lies • Different sand textures • Grainy or wispy grass • Firmer or softer turf And all of a sudden, those trusty wedges can feel like they’ve got the wrong bounce, wrong sole, or wrong leading edge for the job. That’s where golf trips become one of the best learning environments you can get. You start to: • Develop adaptability • Learn new shot options • Understand turf interaction better • Get creative around greens • Build real on-course problem-solving skills It’s why the best players in the world travel so well — they’ve learned to adjust their equipment and technique to suit the conditions in front of them. Personally, the North Island trip was unforgettable.
