Summary
Between 1989 and 1993, the Brazilian town of Altamira was gripped by fear as young boys began disappearing. Some were later found murdered and mutilated, while others vanished without a trace. The investigation eventually led authorities to members of the Superior Universal Alignment (Lineamento Universal Superior) , a fringe spiritual movement founded by Valentina de Andrade, whose teachings claimed that children born after 1981 were spiritually corrupt and beyond redemption. In this episode, we examine the horrifying Altamira child murders, the cult's disturbing ideology, the respected professionals accused of participating in the crimes, and the decades-long legal battle that followed.
