Summary
There’s a version of Christianity that fits perfectly on a bumper sticker—short, catchy, and easy to repeat. Phrases like “God helps those who help themselves,” “Everything happens for a reason,” or “Follow your heart” sound spiritual… even comforting. But what if some of the ideas we’ve picked up—ideas we’ve repeated and believed—aren’t actually found in Scripture? In this series, Bumper Sticker Theology, we’re going to take a closer look at some of the most common Christian clichés and ask a simple question: Is it true… or does it just sound true?
