The problem was how we treated our lakes. We encroached them. Polluted them. Disconnected them. Forgot them. But Bengaluru’s future can still be rebuilt around water. Imagine Bellandur Lake as a thriving public destination. Ulsoor as a clean waterfront district. Every neighbourhood with a restored lake, walking tracks, cycling zones, cleaner air, and better groundwater. More lakes means more water security. Less flooding. Better urban life.
