In 1985, two siblings named Leona and Leroy David opened a 31-room motel beside the Old Tonopah Cemetery, where their father Clarence was buried. He had been a collector of clown figurines. They put his collection in the lobby. They opened the door to strangers. They were keeping vigil. They did not know that is what they were doing.
