Summary
In this Tisha B’Av episode, I reflect on my father, Rabbi Dr. Mordechai Reich, z”l, and the way he lived as a peacemaker.Tisha B’Av is a day when we mourn destruction, loss, and the terrible consequences of division among brothers. It is also an opportunity to look at the ways conflict, resentment, and the need to be right can damage connection in our own lives. My father showed me that peace is not created through grand gestures. It is built through listening, humility, careful words, and the willingness to see another person’s perspective. I connect his example to coaching and to the inner work that peace requires. When we learn to pause, question the stories we are telling, regulate our emotions, and choose our responses more intentionally, we create more peace within ourselves and in our relationships. As I close this season of the podcast and take a break until September, I invite you to consider one small step you can take toward greater peace in your own life.
