Summary
Chad Oban is a Bismarck, North Dakota native with decades of experience in government relations, politics, and public advocacy. Over the course of his career, he has worked on campaigns at every level of government—from presidential races to local city council contests—giving him a deep understanding of both grassroots organizing and statewide policy work. Chad currently serves as the Executive Director of North Dakota United, the state’s largest union representing educators and public employees. In this role, he leads statewide efforts to strengthen public education, protect workers’ rights, and advocate for strong public services for all North Dakotans. Chad also chaired the successful statewide campaign that defeated a ballot measure aimed at eliminating property taxes, helping preserve critical funding for local communities, schools, and public services.In addition to his advocacy work, Chad is the co-host of the popular Plain Talk podcast alongside Rob Port, where he regularly discusses North Dakota politics, public policy, and current events. He is married to former North Dakota State Senator Erin Oban and is the proud father of Evin, a third grader at Will-Moore elementary.
