Summary
When a population of people is homogenous and orderly, anyone stepping out of line is quickly shamed and encouraged to rejoin the group. When that parson is foreign or of a certain race or ethnicity it often becomes a racial issue rather than one of social order. Public shaming and discrimination of one’s own is accepted but when it involves outsiders it is considered a moral sin. Stereotyping and prejudice is often, like a phobia, justified based on experience and collective actions, meaning that racism is often justified and rational. But how do Western views on racism apply when a “white” person advocating to “stop asian hate” is confronted by an asian ruthlessly trolling a brown person?
