Summary
I want to begin with a prediction. I believe that over the next two years, one of the biggest conversations in independent and private schools will be answering the following question: “How much technology actually belongs in the classroom? For almost twenty years, schools have raced toward more technology. We have become 1:1 and we have purchased iPads and online curriculums and apps and other types of educational technology. Of course, this has led to more screen time, especially during COVID. A growing movement has emerged that many people are calling the "Unplugged Movement." At the same time, a new book called The Digital Delusion by neuroscientist Dr. Jared Cooney Horvath has become one of the most talked-about books in education circles. The important things to remember are: Your parents are going to hear about this book. Your parents and board members are going to hear about the unplugged movement. Your teachers are going to ask questions. If you're not prepared, someone else will create the narrative for you. On today’s episode of the PSLP I am going to ask you a question.
