Summary

Growing up as the son of a Marine who would retire as a Lieutenant General, Jim Lukeman experienced the Marine Corps long before he ever earned the title himself. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame and commissioning in 1980, what was supposed to be a four-year commitment turned into an incredible 40-year career. In Part 1, Jim shares stories from his childhood, ROTC, becoming a Marine officer, and his early assignments—including serving in Europe during Operation Desert Storm. Join us as we begin the remarkable journey of one of the Marine Corps' most respected leaders.
