Summary
In this episode of The Language of Behavior , Josh and Charle sit down with special education leader Victoria Veneziano to explore how we can better support students with complex behavioral and emotional needs. Drawing from her experience in special education and systems-level work, Victoria unpacks practical ways to build trust with students, collaborate with families, and partner with classroom teachers so behavior supports feel proactive instead of punitive. She also discusses how to navigate limited resources, advocate for appropriate placements and services, and care for the adults doing this challenging work. This conversation is filled with real-world examples, compassionate reframes, and strategies you can apply immediately in your school. About Victoria Veneziano Victoria is a health and happiness enthusiast, a developer, a workshop facilitator, and most proudly – an educator. She has spent two decades teaching, developing curriculum, and training educators in mindful movement across the world in private and public sectors. She continues to design and deliver interactive, immersive workshops within the architect and design community, and school districts nationwide. She’s a certified Executive Leadership Coach, Yoga Teacher, and EdMarket Certified Learning Place Specialist. In 2024, she was the recipient of EdMarket’s NexGen in Education award. When she’s not collaborating on innovative school design, she’s spending time with her rescue pup and cheering on her Bay Area sports teams.
