Summary
How did we actually get the Bible? Was it cooked up in a smoke filled room by bishops in black robes, or is the Da Vinci Code right that Constantine and the Council of Nicaea just slapped it together? I'm answering that question head on today, and the real story is so much more powerful than the conspiracy theories give it credit for. We're talking about why Ecclesiastes made the cut and the Book of Enoch didn't, why the Gospel of Thomas and the Gospel of Peter got left out (you have to hear what's actually in those, it's wild), and what the church's real role was in recognizing Scripture versus creating it. The Bible has survived emperors, skeptics, and a few too many cable specials trying to pair Jesus up with Mary Magdalene. It's still standing, and it always will.
