Summary
📞 BOOK A CALL HERE: https://www.jordanapodaca.com/ After infidelity, jealousy can become much more intense. But sometimes the jealousy is no longer only about the betrayal itself. You may start feeling threatened by your partner’s past relationships, old partners, friendships, attention from other people, or even the fact that they had a life before you. This is often called retroactive jealousy. In this episode, I explain why infidelity can make retroactive jealousy worse, why betrayal trauma and retroactive jealousy are not the same thing, and why real healing requires separating what your partner actually did from the deeper insecurity that may have been there before the betrayal. Your partner may need to take accountability for cheating, lying, hiding, minimizing, or crossing boundaries. But they cannot take accountability for having a past before you.
