Summary
At around 11 PM on November 14th, 1997, 14-year-old Reena Virk arrived at a late-night party at Shoreline Community Middle School in View Royal, British Columbia. Soon after arriving, police were called to the school, and the children in attendance scattered. When Reena did not return home, her mother called the Saanich Police Department and reported her missing. They initially believed her to be a runaway, but they did work on looking for her around the area. On November 22nd, the body of a teenage girl was found by a Dive Unit among the reeds in the Portage Inlet, and was confirmed to be that of Reena Virk. The police constable operating the helicopter above the area said it was immediately clear to him that the figure he was seeing in the water was the body of the girl they had been looking for for days.
