Summary
What was the purpose of Israel’s ancient Tabernacle? Exodus 25:8 explains it well: “Let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in their midst.” God wants to dwell with His people! The Tabernacle and the Temple pointed to God’s eternal covenant with Israel. But even further, God dwelled in the midst of Israel to invite all nations to know Him through the witness of the Jewish people.
