Summary

A flesh-eating parasite known as the New World screwworm has been detected in U.S. livestock for the first time in decades, putting producers across North America on alert. While Canadian officials say the risk here is low, the parasite can burrow into living tissue and has a long history of devastating livestock herds once it gains a foothold. To tell us more about the threat and how Canada is preparing, Evan is joined by Leigh Rosengren, Chief Veterinary Officer with the Canadian Cattle Association.
