Summary
There is a reason God commanded the children of Israel “thou shalt have no other gods before me” (Exodus 19: 6). God expects his people to be a “holy nation” (2 Peter 3: 9), a people who display him in the very fabric of their lives (Romans 12:1- 2). To “let your light so shine... (Matthew 5: 16) illuminating all life with the light of God. Simply put no idols needed. As John states we are God's image to the world! (1 John 4:12). We do this by being transformed into the image of Christ (John 1: 18, Colossians 1: 15, Hebrews 1: 3, Romans 8: 29). Living as God's image to mankind is a challenge. Each look, every word, the tone of our voice, even my appearance is to display God to others. This conduct of life is daily moment by moment work.
