Summary
Luna is trapped in her mother's childhood bedroom from a life where she never existed. The diary's final page writes itself, and water seeps through the locked door. She finds a hidden panel behind the wardrobe, revealing a staircase to the attic—but the attic is her own childhood bedroom, impossibly present inside this memory. A woman sits on the bed, humming a lullaby Luna's mother used to sing. She turns, and her face is Luna's own, but older, marked by threads. The woman says she has been waiting for Luna to find her—that she is the version of Luna who never left the well. The water rises, and the two must decide which of them will ascend the stairs and which will stay behind to lock the door forever.
