Summary
Formula 1 gathered more momentum during the 1980s, its leading runners becoming superstars and manufacturer involvement pushing technology forward. There were many great races and top performers, but we’re continuing our challenge of selecting and ranking the leading drivers of each F1 decade. As usual, we’ve considered many factors, including level of success, machinery at their disposal, longevity and how highly the drivers were rated by their contemporaries.
