Summary

Under questioning from House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan, Fairfax County Commonwealth's Attorney Steve Descano said the quiet part out loud when asked why he scrubbed language from his website promising his office would "make charging and plea decisions that limit or avoid immigration consequences" and calling deportation as a criminal penalty "a perversion of justice." That language sat on his campaign site for six years. Then, conveniently, it vanished just before he was to testify. His answer was that promises were just "a campaign statement," and that voters were "obtuse" if they could not tell the difference between what he told them to win the election and what he actually did in office. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is publicly accusing Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly — a retired Navy captain, former astronaut, and member of the "Seditious Six" — of violating his oath by disclosing details from a classified Pentagon briefing on U.S. weapons stockpiles depleted by the ongoing Iran conflict. The question becomes, is this feud leading to accountability, or is it just a distraction during a time when the Department of War should be focused on multiple missions? Chris Salcedo, author of The Rise of the Liberty-Loving Latino: A New American Revolution, political analyst, host of the Chris Salcedo Radio Show, the Chris Salcedo Show on Newsmax TV, and The Salcedo Storm Podcast, is scheduled to join me to discuss Hegseth vs. Kelly.
