Summary

Dawn started CrossFit in 2010 when nobody really knew what they were doing. By 2014 she had found her home gym in Reno, gone fully competitive, and started coaching. A few years later she burned out completely — took three years away from everything CrossFit related, moved to a cabin in the woods with her husband, and eventually came back. She came back different. Now she does the Build program on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday so she can mountain bike on Thursday. She passes on the wall balls when she has something she actually wants to do the next day. And she's coaching at SSC because she finally feels far enough from the burnout to remember why she loved it in the first place. This conversation wanders through balance, information overload, the can vs. should problem, and why the best thing fitness ever did for her was stop being the most important thing in her life.
