Summary
In this episode of Straight Talk, No B.S. with Matthew’s Hope, presented by Imagine Marketing, Pastor Scott and Shelley discuss the measures some World Cup host cities in the U.S. took in efforts to address their homelessness crisis before welcoming the world. In the United States, the 11 host cities for the tournament included Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New Jersey, Philadelphia, the San Francisco Bay Area and Seattle. FIFA estimated that the 2026 tournament will provide 17 billion dollars in GDP growth in the United States and create approximately 185,000 jobs. But how much of that money will be utilized to find long-term solutions for those experiencing homelessness in our cities? And how many of the initiatives that cities implemented ahead of the World Cup will continue once the visitors from around the globe return home? Each week, Pastor Scott, Shelley and guests share their experiences from operating a homeless outreach in Florida's Orange and Brevard Counties to raise awareness and tackle some of the biggest misconceptions surrounding the homeless crisis in America today.
