Summary
Byrkjefjell – Stone altar, blue circle & giant apples in NorwayA sunlit hike.A hand-built altar on bare rock. And a perfect blue ring in the snow. This week on Stories Lost, we travel to Byrkjefjell on Kvamskogen, east of Bergen, where a married couple in the mid-1960s or early 1970s stumbled upon a scene they would never forget. A stone altar. Fresh ash. And an apple placed as if in offering. What they found went further. A massive trout laid out on a stone slab. Paper slips held down by small rocks. Bundles of precisely cut twigs tied with what looked like horsehair. And below, in a snowfield, a flawless circle 12–15 meters wide, edged with a vivid blue band like powdered pigment pressed into the snow. In its center: an even larger red apple. But that’s only part of the story.00:00 Introduction – The discovery on Birkjefjell01:07 Case background and first testimony02:37 The hikers and the mountain route04:49 The stone altar appears05:29 The apple and the ash06:20 The stone table and the trout07:12 Paper slips and cut twig bundles09:20 The perfect circle in the snow10:45 Blue powder and the giant apple12:47 Contact with UFO Bergen Association13:49 Publication and early investigation15:57 Fixing the date to June 23, 197417:49 Return to Birkjefjell – later research19:05 What happened on the mountain?20:00 Final reflections and discussionSources:(UFO magazine issue no. 1, 2013)(UFO magazine issue no. 2, 2013)(UFO magazine issue no. 4, 2013)(VG, May 1976)(Bergens Tidende, short notice)This episode weaves together archived reports from UFO Norway, press material from VG and Bergens Tidende, and the later investigative work of Jan Erik Bergfjord of NETI, who sought to anchor the testimony to a specific June day in 1974 through meteorological records and renewed field intere…
