Summary
On this episode of Sasquatch Theory I interview Rene from California. Rene spent years working in remote timber country and one of his most unforgettable experiences began during a logging operation in the Northern Sierra mountains near Mount Lassen. According to Rene, his very first nights in camp were unlike anything he had experienced in the outdoors. He began hearing horrific screams coming from multiple directions in the forest. The sounds were extremely loud and aggressive and reminded him of heavy boards snapping in the woods. At first he tried to explain it away, but the activity continued. About a week later, Rene says something approached his window at night and released a scream so intense it terrified him. Not long after, while driving approximately 55 miles per hour on a state highway, he witnessed what he described as a massive coco-brown creature moving alongside his vehicle. According to Rene, the creature appeared to be running on all fours and somehow kept pace with the truck before striking the vehicle and causing damage. Rene believes the activity may have been connected to the disturbance created by logging operations in the area and wonders if the creature—or creatures—were reacting to changes in their environment. The encounters didn’t stop after leaving the mountains. Rene describes seeing a huge brown-black creature behind his trash cans that moved with unbelievable speed and launched away in a motion he compared to a frog jumping nearly thirty feet. He remembers the fur appearing unusual—almost like fishing line. Later, something slammed the side of his home with such force that he thought a tree had fallen onto the roof, yet there was no evidence anything had hit the house.
