FISA 702 powers the surveillance of the United States government against its own citizens, in spite of the law being targeted towards supposedly "Foreign Persons". The reality is that this law that is subject to another renewal in Congress is finally gaining resistance because it is the basis of warrantless surveillance. It allows intelligence agencies and the FBI to conduct surveillance without consequence and without true justification of "reasonable cause".
