III: The closing of Isaac’s story, v27-29 * 27:1, 4 - at 137 Isaac was preparing for death 43 years earlier; but apparently there was some warning here - Jacob came to his father. * Some will say the concept of life after death is absent in the OT, but “gathered” clearly indicates such an idea IV: Toledoths of Esau, 1-43 * unique set (v1, v9)?, immediate descendants & separation, with v31ff being a later insertion.
