Summary

Today is World Population Day , and Radio Miraya is focusing on one of the biggest challenges facing South Sudan's young population, school dropout. Across the country, thousands of children are leaving school because of poverty, displacement, insecurity, child labour, early marriage and teenage pregnancy. Instead of being in classrooms, many are working in markets, bus parks and workshops to survive. In this special report, we examine how school dropout is affecting South Sudan's future and why keeping children in school is key to the country's development.
