Summary

Class is in session… and this coworker was doing entirely too much. A woman at work asks about a recent Europe trip, which seems normal enough. Then she starts asking what the husband does. Also normal. And then she keeps going. How much does he make? No really, how much? Millions? What, are you not allowed to say? At that point it stops being conversation and starts feeling like a weird interrogation with a side of envy. When the wife finally snaps and calls her what a lot of people were probably already thinking, the coworker cries, leaves early, and suddenly everyone wants to act like the real issue was the word choice instead of the behavior that led to it. So now the question is: was that unnecessarily rude… Or was it the natural consequence of somebody refusing to respect a very clear no? Yeah. We had to talk about this one.
