Summary
The error of realizing who God is and His role in our lives leads us to catastrophic outcomes. If we have the notion that God is present for our own purposes and goals, we end up with disappointment and shame. This is what is seen in 1 Samuel where the Israelites thought God would be used for their intended outcomes without honoring Him.
