Relationships required some of the hardest boundaries to set. Several members shared the painful but necessary decision to distance themselves from family members whose negativity, narcissism, or hostility had taken a real toll. Letting go of toxic connections — even close ones — came up again and again as one of the most meaningful things members had done for their peace of mind. Some found their boundary in the digital world. Learning to use the block button on social media, one member noted, had done more for their mental well-being than almost anything else — a reminder that protecting your inner circle applies online just as much as it does in real life. Others redrew their relationship with food entirely.
