Summary
The Rangers just added Eeli Tolvanen on a one-year, $1.5M deal — a physical, two-way middle-six forward who scored 23 goals last season but needs to prove his metrics aren’t a fluke. With top lines locked in, Tolvanen could flex into key roles depending on game situations, potentially sidelining players like Oliver Bjorkstrand. The move deepens the roster, but it also intensifies competition for fourth-line spots — Raddysh, Chmelar, Sykora, Kartye, Rempe, and prospect Greentree are all vying for minutes. This signing boosts depth and flexibility, especially on special teams, even if Tolvanen isn’t a guaranteed top-scorer.
