Summary
Luis Rojas is part of a family of baseball royalty. The son of Felipe Alou, Rojas is like a lot of current members of the Yankees, in that he grew up around the highest level of the sport, both in America and the Dominican Republic. Now the Yankees’ third base coach, Rojas stopped by our studio to chat with Yankees Magazine deputy editor Jon Schwartz for this week’s episode. The two discussed the different ways you have to coach different players, the joys of wearing pinstripes, and the resilience the 2026 team has shown all year long. And in our second segment, YES Network’s Meredith Marakovits joins to discuss the Yankees’ postseason clinch, including the lessons that she has learned about using prosecco and Budweiser as hair products. Finally, as we close out a week spent remembering the 25th anniversary of one of this country’s worst days, senior museum curator Brian Richards opens a fascinating chapter of History Books about a former Yankee with a remarkable connection to 9/11. Don’t forget, the New York Yankees Official Podcast is also available in video form on the Gotham Sports App. Check us out! We’re going live all postseason, with episodes every week for as long as the Yankees keep playing. Hopefully, you get sick of us by the end of it! And if you have questions you’d like Meredith to get answers to, send them to [email protected]. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
