Summary
The Mets are showcasing their bright future on the mound with four young pitchers set to anchor next year’s rotation: Nolan McLean, Zac Thornton, Christian Scott, and Jonah Tong. McLean is already locked in, Scott is rebounding strongly post-Tommy John, Thornton’s proving he belongs in the majors with elite control, and Tong’s turnaround has been electric. With veteran arms traded mid-season and playoff droughts behind them, this lineup could be the foundation for a 2027 resurgence. And it’s not just about pitching — Saturday sees Carlos Beltrán’s number 15 retired, and Sunday honors legendary broadcaster Howie Rose before his retirement, blending promise with legacy.
