Summary
The Patriots just added a heavyweight veteran to their defensive line—DaQuan Jones, a 6’4”, 320-pound defensive tackle with 12 pro seasons under his belt. Signed after a roster spot opened up, Jones brings experience and chemistry with head coach Mike Vrabel, whom he played for back in Tennessee. Originally drafted by the Titans in 2014, Jones has racked up tackles and sacks across multiple teams—and surprisingly stayed unsigned until now. He visited New England in August but waited until after the season started to sign, avoiding guaranteed salary. “When Coach Vrabel calls, it’s hard to say no,” Jones said. His addition is expected to anchor the interior of the defensive line as the Patriots look to strengthen their front seven.
