Summary

Grab a beer and join us tonight as we cover Ruben Salazar! He was one of the only Mexican-American journalists working in Los Angeles at the time, a columnist for the LA Times and the news director at KMEX, and he'd spent years writing about how the cops out there treated the Chicano community. On August 29th, 1970, he ducked into a bar called the Silver Dollar to get away from a protest that had turned ugly, and a sheriff's deputy fired a tear gas projectile through the doorway that hit him in the head. So tonight we'll get into who he was, what happened that day, and why a lot of people still don't buy that it was an accident. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
