Summary
A cat just stole the spotlight—Sophie, a feline from Pawster Nashville, snagged first place in The Tennessean’s Pet of the Week contest with 36% of the vote, making history as the first cat ever to win. While dogs usually dominate, Sophie’s charm won over voters during the Sept. 2–7 poll, which paused for Labor Day before returning Sept. 16. Not up for adoption, Sophie lives with foster mom Annabelle and is set to go home soon. Runner-ups? Shakira (dog) and Baby Girl (dog), both adorable contenders. With nominees from across Middle Tennessee, this contest celebrates every furry friend—just don’t sleep on Sophie’s big win.
