Modern smartphones are some of the most locked down consumer devices that have ever existed. Computers are less secure, and you downgrade your security when you link a privacy focused app, like Signal, to a less secure environment. You are effectively taking a very well protected environment, your phone, and extending trust to a much weaker one.
