Summary
Cheetah Chrome, the fiery founding guitarist of the Dead Boys and a punk rock legend, has died at 71. Known for his raw riffs and electrifying stage energy, Chrome helped shape the punk movement with bands like Rocket From The Tombs and the Dead Boys — icons of CBGB’s gritty scene. Though their debut album didn’t break charts, hits like “Ain’t It Fun” lived on, even getting a Guns N’ Roses cover. After battling addiction and years of reunions, including a 2003 Rocket From The Tombs revival, Chrome was set to appear on a long-awaited Dead Boys album in 2024 — but that project remains unreleased. His legacy as a true original and sweet soul who lived for rock ‘n’ roll endures. Listen in comfort: Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
