Summary
Cage the Elephant just claimed their 14th number one on the Alternative Airplay chart with “Beaches in Tennessee,” tying them with Linkin Park and Twenty One Pilots for second-most all-time—only the Red Hot Chili Peppers have more. The track also topped Adult Alternative Airplay, marking their eighth win on that chart and extending their three-year streak of consecutive 1s on Alternative Airplay, their longest run yet. Frontman Matt Shultz revealed the song was born from personal hardship but crafted with humor and hope, aiming to help listeners find joy in tough times. It’s also a major milestone for their new label, Big Loud Rock—their third 1 this year and the first for any artist on Big Loud Records. The track will appear on their upcoming seventh studio album, and they’ve dropped another new song, “Dying in Reverse,” with a European tour on the horizon.
