Summary
In 2014, a weekend getaway in New Mexico turned fatal for Texas elementary school teacher Emily Lambert after she was reported missing by her boyfriend, Robert Early. Early initially claimed to emergency dispatchers that Lambert had disappeared from a hotel bar with an unidentified man following a drunken disagreement. However, investigators quickly noticed inconsistencies in his story, and a failed polygraph examination eventually forced a series of shifting confessions. Early first fabricated a story about a stranger in a white truck attacking Lambert, but he later admitted to brutally beating her himself in a hotel room and at a secondary location. The evidence revealed that he used steel-toed boots and an air pump to kill her before dragging her body into a field using a rope. Following his admission of the horrific details, a jury found Early guilty of first-degree murder, resulting in a sentence of life in prison without parole.
