Summary
This episode details the criminal history and sentencing of Yolanda Marodi, a California woman who received a prison term of 36 years to life for the 2025 murder of her wife, Fire Captain Rebecca Marodi. Evidence against Yolanda included home security footage capturing the fatal attack and a subsequent confession sent via text message before she fled to Mexico. The reports reveal that this was Yolanda’s second homicide, as she had previously served time for the stabbing death of her former husband in 2000. Public officials and loved ones highlighted the tragedy of domestic violence affecting a dedicated first responder who was unaware of her spouse's violent past. Ultimately, Yolanda pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, concluding a case that drew significant attention to her recurring pattern of deadly aggression.
