Summary
This episode details the disappearance of Nancy Hartz, a 71-year-old woman who vanished after beginning an online relationship with a man using several aliases. Investigation into her case revealed that her partner, eventually identified as Robert Carnegan, was a serial con artist who targeted older women for their financial assets. Through the efforts of a private investigator and the use of trick questions during phone calls, authorities discovered that an impostor was pretending to be Nancy to mislead her family. Further searches linked Carnegan to at least two other missing women, suggesting a more violent and sinister pattern beyond mere financial fraud. Though Carnegan claimed his former partners simply left, his arrest on identity theft and weapons charges has led officials to treat him as a primary person of interest in their potential murders. Nancy’s family remains convinced of her tragic fate while law enforcement continues to search for more victims of this multi-faced swindler.
