Summary
In July 2026, the city of Cali, Colombia, was struck by the tragic homicide of 21-year-old María Camila Potosí, an expectant mother who was found dead days after her disappearance. Authorities discovered her body near the Meléndez River, noting she had been stabbed and bound, but the most shocking revelation was that her unborn daughter was missing from her womb. Investigators identified a female suspect who was captured on surveillance footage transporting Potosí on a motorcycle shortly before she vanished. The victim’s family and local officials have offered a substantial reward for information, clinging to the hope that the infant, whom they named Alahia, may still be alive. This rare and horrific case of fetal abduction has sparked nationwide outrage and a massive police search to locate the newborn and those responsible for the crime. The investigation remains active as the community rallies to support the grieving family and seek justice for the young mother.
