Summary
This episode documents the investigation and trial of Todd Kendhammer, a Wisconsin man convicted of murdering his wife, Barbara, in 2016. While Kendhammer maintained that his wife was killed when a pipe fell off a truck and pierced their windshield, forensic evidence and a lack of witnesses for the mystery vehicle led police to suspect a staged accident. Prosecutors argued that Todd beat and strangled his wife before fabricating the scene to conceal his actions. Despite the defense's focus on the couple’s long-standing happy marriage and the absence of a clear motive, the jury found him guilty based on inconsistencies in his testimony. Kendhammer was ultimately sentenced to life in prison, while his children continue to maintain his innocence.
