Summary
This episode details the tragic 2020 murder of Marisela Botello, a young Seattle woman who disappeared during a trip to Dallas after leaving a bar with a stranger named Charles Beltran. Investigators eventually discovered that Botello was stabbed to death in her sleep by Beltran’s partner, Lisa Dykes, who acted out of a jealous rage upon finding the two together. The narrative explores the complex and unconventional relationship between Dykes, Beltran, and another woman named Nina Morano, noting how Dykes' obsession led to a dark personality shift and involvement in the occult. Following the crime, the trio attempted to hide the body and fled to Cambodia to escape prosecution. Ultimately, authorities tracked them down, and despite her denials, Dykes was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
