Summary
This episode details the tragic mass murder of the Brown family and Nicholas Leonard in Hudson, Florida, at the hands of Adam Matos. Driven by obsessive jealousy after his ex-girlfriend Megan began a new relationship, Matos killed her, her parents, and her new partner before hiding their bodies in a wooded area. The killer remained in the home for several days with his young autistic son, who eventually identified his father as the perpetrator to investigators. During his trial, Matos unsuccessfully argued self-defense, leading to a conviction on four counts of first-degree murder. Although he narrowly avoided the death penalty, the court sentenced him to life in prison without parole. Today, the young survivor is being raised by relatives as the family continues to heal from the unspeakable horror.
