READ: 1 Peter 4:1-6 (Romans 6) 1 Peter 3:18 - “ For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,... ” “...How can we who died to sin still live in it? 3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?” - Romans 6:2-3 - Romans 6:5 - “For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.” - 1 Peter 4:1-2 - “Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh ,(body) arm (equip) yourselves with the same way of thinking , (ennioa: thought, purpose) for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased (release, to cause to stop) from sin, 2 so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh (body) no longer (may-ket-ee: never again) for human passions (desire for the forbidden) but for the will of God. ” Being united with Christ demands that we live like Him in holiness. - Ephesians 4:20-24 - “But that is not the way you learned Christ!— 21 assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, 22 to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.” - 1 Peter 4:3-6 - “For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do , living (perpetrate) in sensuality, (debauchery) passions, (desire for the forbidden) drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, (carousing, noisy and obnoxiousness and riotous) and lawless idolatry.
