Summary
In this edition of Morning Manna, Rick Wiles and Doc Burkhart examine Proverbs 29:18–20, beginning with one of the Bible’s most frequently misunderstood verses: “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” Solomon was not teaching the importance of mission statements, strategic plans, or ambitious dreams. The “vision” is God’s revealed Word, and when that Word is absent or rejected, people cast off restraint. The lesson then turns to the difference between understanding and obedience, and Solomon’s startling warning that there is “more hope for a fool” than for someone hasty with his words. Together, these verses confront three spiritual dangers: living without the restraint of God’s Word, hearing truth without obeying it, and speaking before wisdom has been given time to govern the tongue.
